Master’s Ranch is a home away from home for adolescent boys from places like Independence, Missouri, who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. We start right away with physical training to bring boys up to a minimum level of fitness. MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally understand the consequences of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
We have certified teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are available for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for vocational experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these opportunities.
Boys have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer pastoral counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual guidance.
