We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, loving these boys unconditionally and walking through the days beside them, coaching and teaching them.

We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.
Residents spend a lot of time camping, playing sports, and just learning how to have good clean fun again.
We start right away with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They gain muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the ramifications of bad behaviors. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
We have certified teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a shortened academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.
Teens participate in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus. We give pastoral counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual guidance.
