Boys spend a great deal of their free time outdoors, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
We begin with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their achievements bolster confidence so that boys are built up.

We have qualified teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Teens participate in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer biblical counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
