Our Therapeutic Boarding School for Boys
Restoring Lives and Building Life Skills through Family-Style
Ranch Life and Academics
A Family-Style Boarding School Program
At the Master’s Ranch and Christian Academy, we are dedicated to the restoration and healing of families and their teens. Our ranch-type residential program for troubled teenage boys uses a family-style model with a strong emphasis on work and discipline. The administrators, Dr. Bosley and his wife Tresa, have cared for troubled children and teens for over 28 years, at first out of their own home.
Master’s Ranch offers experienced group and individual counseling, as well as professional clinical-type counseling from licensed therapists. We use an informal approach to counseling, often with the outdoors as the setting, since teenage boys who are active will open up and share more readily. While the boys are with us, we also work with parents to bring ideas to the home environment as well.
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy is decidedly Christian, with morning devotions, counseling and weekly church services. Bosleys love the boys like their own, and they earn the teens’ love in return.
Therapeutic Healing and Confidence through Learning How to Work
Ranch life provides the setting for the transformation that happens in teens’ lives here. Boys live on a working farm and learn responsibility by caring for horses, cattle, pigs and dogs. We give special attention to using animals in anger management and for healing problems with emotional attachment.
The boarding school program is heavily vocational in nature. In addition to the animal husbandry skills they learn on the ranch, the boys work with general contractors in wood, metal, cement, plumbing and electrical construction. Our boys get the opportunity to work from time to time in the local economy and earn money for doing so.
While attending Master’s Ranch Christian Academy, boys will also get their hunter’s safety permit and their driver’s permit or license after completing driver education.
MRCA uses a military style of organization and discipline, in that the boys navigate a rank structure through which they gradually earn elevated levels of trust, responsibility, authority and privilege. When teens exit the boarding school program, their new confidence allows them to successfully return to home life, college, vocational training, the military, or employment.
Preparing for Successful Futures with Accredited Education
MRCA educates boys on site with a computer-based nationally accredited curriculum. Most students will complete much of their elective requirements for high school during their stay at MRCA, even if they have fallen behind at home. MRCA also has traditional classroom instruction from certified teachers and offers GED preparation classes as well as ACT and SAT prep.
Healthy Recreation and Activities
MRCA teaches kids how to enjoy good, clean fun. The boys at MRCA frequently go offsite for camping, fishing and hunting. Some of the teens participate in football, track and basketball with the local schools in our area. Those with musical interest play instruments, take lessons and sing in the choir.
The Master’s Ranch and Christian Academy is a place of healing and hope. We have seen hundreds of at-risk and struggling teens transformed into hard-working, respectable young adults. We help restore boys to their families; healthy, confident and spiritually and academically on track.
